The past couple of weeks I have been so busy that I have not had the chance to blog. I started to make bigger projects as one of the two that I have picture of. The one with the rose carving is for my great-grandmother, she loves it when I make her little things and this is one that she can use. The mug that I have a picture of is a request from Mr. Meserve, he wanted me to make him a mug that was a natural looking so I made the handle twist.
This week I was pretty busy. I learned how to make Raku glaze and the different formulas to make which colors. I also leaned how to process clay using the clay pooper. I didn't throw much because I don't have a lot to throw. But I did stay after school a couple of days to try to throw bigger projects. I also learned how to throw on the hump, which was difficult, but it turned out pretty well.
This week I have finished almost all of the projects on the progress scale, the only one that I need to do is the third theme project which I already have an idea for. Otherwise I am working on glazing and getting everything on the bisque cart.
This week, my set of three and my two plates came out of the bisque kiln, so then I glazed them with the watercolor underglaze. I also went through and made my own frankin pot and attached it all. Then, I attached it today.
3/9- Finished glazing and smoothed out frankin pot
3/10- threw a mug start and wheel altered and attempted to throw a rock vase that I saw on youtube 3/11 Short period due to spring pep assembly, footed a cylinder 3/14 Threw a double walled project and porcelin cylinder 3/15-footed and carved holes in my double walled. This week I was pretty busy. I finished glazing my solar system cylinder that I now use for my make up brushes, I also glazed my wheel altered and lidded; those are all on here and are graded as well. I also threw 2 bowls and two mug starts (and one died). I also took the time and helped Finn center on the wheel and he's doing great! The next day I footed my two bowls I then threw 7 separate pieces and for a personal frankinpot. Then today I put together my frankinpot and put it in a bag so then it will dry slowly and hopefully not break and fall apart. I also glazed my hand and wheel and my extra project which is a goblet. (Picture of my 19 1/2 inch frankinpot below)
This past week I have worked on remaking a few projects then glazing that is about it; pictures below.
