This is my extra wheel altered cylinder. It's pretty small, about the sixe of a small cup, perfect for a little center piece on a dinner table. A new skill that I used on this piece is that I couldn't foot this project perfectly so the bottom turned out pretty badly so then I used the red clay and added little feet to the bottom to keep the project balanced when being set on a flat surface. With his cylinder I really accented the form with the hand print that I did when glazing, this emphasizes how I formed the almost moving looking lip. The overall feeling of this piece is relaxation, with the flowing form of top and then with the calming dark green hand that really shows the contrast of the two colors. |
